Eli Fitchen-Young, a junior at Santa Cruz High in California, finished fourth in the Division 4 boys final by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 14:49.5 at Woodward Park in Fresno at the CIF State Cross Country Championships. Fitchen-Young elevated from sixth place last season in 15:28.3, leading Santa Cruz to an 11th-place finish with 276 points.
